Bruce Wolcott was the Seattle, Washington-based lecturer for KXH242. He is an instructor in the Digital Media Arts and Communications departments at Bellevue College, in Bellevue, Washington, where he has taught both online and in the classroom since 1998.

He has co-authored two textbooks with his Bellevue College colleague, Michael Korolenko. The most recent is a print/web hybrid called Digital Futurama (Bruce Wolcott and Michael Korolenko) published by Kendall/Hunt Publishers, and released in January, 2009. In 2006, he completed a media theory textbook with Korolenko called Design and Storytelling: Media Literacy for the Digital Age (Bruce Wolcott and Michael Korolenko), released by Pearson Publishing.

Bruce has over 25 years' experience in multimedia production. Early in his career, he studied motion picture production in Rome, Italy and had the good fortune of working at Motiva Ltd., a pioneering multi image production company in New York City. After completing his B.A. at The Evergreen State College in multimedia, he was media production coordinator for the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, and worked 18 years as an optical effects designer and producer for a wide range of Seattle-area clients.
