Enrolling in HIT Lab Units as Electives

Students enrolled in any UTas course may choose to enrol in any of the following HIT units as electives. All units are offered at the Launceston campus only.

• KXH141: Virtual Reality Technology
• KXH142: Augmented Reality Technology
• KXH241: User Interface Design
• KXH242: Fundamentals of Interactive Entertainment

Enrolling in the HIT Major

To enrol in the HIT major in 2010, students must be enrolled in the following undergraduate degree courses:

• Bachelor of Computing
• Bachelor of Arts
• Bachelor of Science
• Bachelor of Contemporary Arts
• Bachelor of Business
• Bachelor of Behavioural Science
• Bachelor of Health Science
• Bachelor of Education
• Australian Maritime College courses including the
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Marine Environment)
  • and Bachelor of Business (Marine and Logistics Management)

The HIT major consists of the following 8 units. All units are offered at the Launceston campus only.

• KXH141: Virtual Reality Technology
• KXH142: Augmented Reality Technology
• KXH241: User Interface Design
• KXH242: Fundamentals of Interactive Entertainment
• KXH341: Immersive World Workshop A
• KXH342: Immersive World Workshop B
• KXH343: Designing Virtual Worlds
• KXH344: Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Please note that the KXH3xx units are not available until 2011.

New Students in 2010

If you are a new student in 2010, you will first need to apply for entry into your chosen course of study. You can apply for entry into University by visiting this web page and filling in an online application: UTas Admissions

You must receive an offer of a place before you can accept and subsequently enrol. If your application is successful you will be sent a letter of offer along with an acceptance form. Online applicants can do this through the eApplications website.

Once your have accepted your offer you can enrol in units by using the the eStudentCentre (online student administration portal) that is accessible from here.

Continuing Students in 2010

Students continuing in 2010 can enrol in HIT units either as electives or as part of the HIT major by using the eStudentCentre (online student administration portal) that is accessible from here.
