I am currently employed full-time as Research Coordinator at the Australian Maritime College (an institution of UTas since 2008). I have previously worked in recruitment as well as in public health as a bacteriologist. I originally studied Biology/Physics and Microbiology.

UTas Enrolled Course(s): Bachelor of Arts
Year of Study: First
Majors / Minors: Undecided (Interested in Asian Studies)

Activities: Gardening, cooking, complementary medicine, learning to play folk harp.
Likes: Travel, food, classical music, stone and crop circles.
Dislikes: Crowds, environmental degradation, instant coffee.

What are your plans after study?
To pursue my interests in tertiary-level research.

What do you find most exciting about Human Interface Technology (HIT)?
The heightened learning ability and skills development that is possible and its relevance to such a wide range of human endeavours.

Any Advice for Prospective HIT Students?
The HITLab provides a fantastic opportunity to learn from the experts in this field. Being from a non-computer studies background and a mature-age student, I found the tutorials initially a challenge, but the rewards far outweighed the effort. If you have the chance, take it.
