The unit attracted around 40 students from a variety of academic backgrounds - studying disciplines such as Architecture/Environmental Design, Business, Social Work, Philosophy/History, Science, Computing and Contemporary Arts. Creative Arts Summer School 2009The unit KXH112 An Introduction to Virtual Reality and Advanced Media Technology was offered by HIT Lab Australia and the School of Computing & Information Systems as part of the Tasmanian Creative Arts Summer School that was held from Wednesday January 14 to Friday January 23, 2009. The students that participated in the 10 day 9am-5:30pm intensive programme come from a variety of academic backgrounds - studying disciplines such as Architecture/Environmental Design, Business, Social Work, Philosophy/History, Science, Computing and Contemporary Arts. The students were required to complete a group project (in 3 days) that involved designing and building an augmented reality game in teams of 4 using BuildAR - a free augmented reality software package developed by HIT Lab NewZealand.
